American Community Enrichment partners with ColPac to make communities safer from Wildfires.
American Community Enrichment recently partnered with ColPac and completed a Firewise Communities program, a national program that helps communities take action to reduce their risk before a wildfire starts.
The Firewise Communities Program is a cooperative, non-regulatory program administered by the National Fire Protection Association which provides wild-land/urban interface resources for fire- fighter safety, community planning, land- scaping, construction and maintenance to help protect people, property, and natural resources from wildland fire. It is sponsored by USDA Forest Service, US Department of Interior, Washington Department of Natural Resources and State Forestry organizations.
American Community Enrichment worked in partnership with COLPAC and Grays Harbor County to support Firewise.
Deliverables included a comprehensive 60 page Resource Manual, and an interactive database with information and links to people, fire departments, agencies, cities, maps, emergency contacts and safety information. These materials were also made available on CD-ROM disc.
Grants, programs, materials, resources and assistance are available to communities choosing to adopt the program and become “Firewise Communities”. American Community Enrichment will continue to work with individual communities within Grays Harbor County to have them obtain the benefits of “Firewise” certification.
American Community Enrichment also works with individual Firewise Communities.
