American Community Enrichment is pleased to announce a recent contract award from Grays Harbor County to proceed to Firewise Communities
Program Phase 3
Phase 3 of the Firewise Communities Program is designed to focus on regional program outreach activities and events in support of assisting cities, towns and tribes within Grays Harbor County with an interest in applying for National Fire Protection Association Firewise Community Designation. Phase 3 Firewise Communities Program activities and events will be coordinated with applicable Fire Districts as well as area City, Town and Tribal leaders, homeowners, community leaders, planners, developers and others in the effort to inform communities about the Firewise Communities Program in support of protecting people, property, and natural resources from the risk of wildland fire as well as educate communities with regards to the Wildland Urban Interface.
Project related tasks will include the following commencing September 1, 2015 and concluding March 31, 2016:
Phase 3 Target Area:
- City of Elma
- City of Montesano
- City of Aberdeen
- City of Hoquiam
- Quinault Indian Nation
Phase 3 Scope of Work:
- Contact, coordinate and meet with existing designated Firewise Communities and Program Leaders outside of Grays Harbor County in support of information exchange and development of successful Firewise Community Programs and outreach events
- Develop list of contact representatives from each Phase 3 Target Area including applicable Fire Districts; Elma Fire District 5, City of Montesano Fire Department, Aberdeen Fire District 2, Hoquiam Fire District 6, Quinault Indian Nation Village of Taholah Fire Department
- Meet with Phase 3 Target Area representatives to present Firewise Communities Program, Phase 2 and Phase 1 accomplishments and Phase 3 goals and objectives
- Meet with Target Area Fire District representatives in support of coordinating Grays Harbor County Firewise Program regional events with their public outreach events such as fire department open houses, fill the boot fund raisers, and fire district community safety events
- Develop individual Phase 3 Target Area specific Firewise Communities Program Road Show presentations in support of Program education, Firewise Designation application and guidelines, eligible Firewise Projects, and National Fire Protection Association information with regards to Program resources
- Develop and coordinate Firewise Communities Phase 3 regional community outreach events including but not limited to: venue locations, keynote speakers from potential Firewise project funding agencies and current Firewise Designated Communities, applicable Program informational materials, fire safety demonstrations from Fire Districts and Fire Departments, equipment displays, Firewise Event Contests
- Develop and provide Grays Harbor County representative monthly Firewise Communities Program Phase 3 project update reports including a comprehensive final report upon conclusion of the project
- Present Phase 3 updates at Grays Harbor County Commissioners Meetings as requested
